Fine Lines Treatment in Cheongdam & Apgujeong, Seoul

Fine lines are shallow creases caused by dehydration, thinning collagen, sun exposure and repeated expression. At Doje Clinic in Cheongdam and Apgujeong, Seoul, Dr. Byun Jeik first identifies which type you have, then matches it to skin boosters, Skin Botox, Botox or RF microneedling rather than a one-size package.

What causes fine lines?

A fine line is not simply a small wrinkle. It is a surface fold in the epidermis and upper dermis, and it usually has one of three origins — which matters, because each responds to different treatment.

1. Dehydration lines

When the outer skin barrier loses water, the surface shrinks slightly and creases into a criss-cross pattern, often on the cheeks. These lines can appear at any age, worsen in dry air, air-conditioned offices and long flights, and often soften noticeably once hydration and the barrier recover.

2. Dynamic expression lines

Every smile, squint or raised brow folds the skin along the same paths. In younger skin those folds disappear at rest. With time, the creases at the outer eyes, forehead and between the brows start to linger after the expression ends. Here the driver is muscle movement, not the skin itself.

3. Early static lines

From the mid-20s onwards, collagen production slowly declines, and ultraviolet exposure breaks down existing collagen and elastin. The dermis becomes thinner and less springy, so lines remain visible even when the face is relaxed. Smoking, poor sleep and repeated sleep creases add to this.

Most people have a mixture. A forehead line can be both dynamic and static; crepey cheek lines are often part dehydration, part thinning.

How Doje Clinic assesses fine lines

At Doje Clinic, Dr. Byun Jeik looks at your face at rest and in expression during a private 1:1 consultation. Lines that vanish at rest point to muscle activity; lines that remain point to skin structure; a fine cross-hatched pattern that changes with the seasons suggests dehydration. Mark-View 3D skin analysis can add objective data on texture and surface condition, which helps decide whether skin quality treatment should come first.

This assessment protects you from two common mistakes: freezing expression lines that were really dehydration, or adding filler to lines that only needed better skin quality. Doje’s principle is to combine treatments only as far as needed.

Options from mild to advanced

  1. Barrier and hydration. Daily sunscreen, a supportive moisturiser and in-clinic hydration care are the foundation, especially for dehydration lines.
  2. Skin boosters. Rejuran, Re2O, exosome or autologous exosome treatments aim to improve the dermal environment, hydration and texture over a course of sessions. Dermashine Pro helps deliver boosters evenly in small, consistent doses.
  3. Skin Botox. Micro-doses of toxin placed superficially can refine fine crepiness, pores and oiliness without freezing expression. See Skin Botox.
  4. Botox for expression lines. Where a muscle is folding the skin repeatedly, conventional Botox relaxes that muscle so the crease can rest.
  5. RF microneedling. Potenza creates controlled micro-injury with radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen in the upper dermis — useful when lines are part of broader texture change.
  6. Very fine soft filler. For a single etched line that persists after the above, a small amount of soft filler may be considered, placed conservatively.

Where Doje’s programs fit

Fine lines alone rarely need a full program. Many patients start with single treatments from Doje’s skin menu. If fine lines sit around the eyes alongside hollowness or hooding, the Eye Program brings lifting, volume and eye-area skin care together. If they are part of wider ageing — laxity, volume loss — the Signature Program plans the whole face.

When another specialist is more appropriate

If lines are accompanied by persistent redness, flaking, itching or a rash, an underlying skin condition such as dermatitis or rosacea may need diagnosis and prescription treatment from a dermatologist first. Prescription retinoids are also typically managed by a dermatologist or your own doctor.

What to expect

  1. 1:1 consultation and assessment at rest and in expression.
  2. Optional Mark-View 3D analysis.
  3. A plan that names the line type and the treatment for each zone.
  4. Treatment — most fine-line options take under an hour, with minimal to mild downtime that varies by method.
  5. Follow-up to review progress and decide whether a course is needed.

Frequently asked questions

Are fine lines the same as wrinkles?

Fine lines are shallower surface creases; deeper wrinkles and folds usually involve volume loss or sagging as well. The distinction changes which treatment fits.

Will Botox remove fine lines?

Botox helps lines caused by muscle movement. Lines from dehydration or thinning skin usually respond better to skin boosters or Skin Botox.

What is the gentlest option?

Hydration care and skin boosters are typically the gentlest, with little visible downtime, though small injection marks can appear for a day or so.

How many booster sessions are needed?

Skin boosters are often given as a short course, but the number varies with skin condition and goals and is set at consultation.

Can fine lines come back?

Yes. Ageing, sun and expression continue, so most people plan periodic maintenance and daily sun protection.

How much does treatment cost?

It is quoted after a 1:1 consultation because plans differ. Korean aesthetic fees are non-covered and set per plan, so ask for a written quote.
