Key facts
| When you get a price | After the 1:1 consultation, once a plan is agreed |
|---|---|
| Why not before | The same treatment name can mean very different amounts, areas and combinations |
| Insurance | Aesthetic treatments are non-covered (비급여) by Korean national health insurance |
| Written quote | Available on request — ask for it itemised |
| Taxes | Ask whether VAT is included; rules for aesthetic procedures and any visitor refunds change over time |
| Doje principle | Combine only as far as needed — no device packages for their own sake |
Why Doje Clinic quotes after consultation
A treatment name is not a price list item in the way a product is. "Thread lift" can mean a small mid-face correction or a whole lower-face lift; "filler" can mean a single soft-filler area or structural support across several points; an energy device session can cover one zone or the whole face. Quoting before seeing the face either overprices people who need less or sets expectations that do not match what is clinically right.
At Doje, Dr. Byun Jeik designs the plan in a 1:1 consultation and the fee follows from that plan. This keeps the conversation medical first: what your face needs, what is optional and what is not worth doing.
What shapes the cost of a plan
- The treatments chosen. Threads, filler, collagen boosters, energy devices and skin care differ in materials, time and complexity.
- Number of areas. One area versus a combination — for example mid-face only, or mid-face and jawline.
- Product type and amount. Soft versus structural filler, the number of syringes or vials, and the number of threads.
- Device coverage and intensity. How much of the face is treated and at what depth.
- Staging. Whether care is done in one visit or across sessions.
- Supportive care. Items such as soothing or oxygen therapy where they form part of the plan.

Understanding non-covered (비급여) fees in Korea
In Korea, medical services that national health insurance does not cover — which includes aesthetic procedures — are called 비급여 (non-covered) items. Clinics set these fees themselves and are expected to make them available to patients. In practice this means fees differ between clinics and plans, and that a clear, itemised quote is the most reliable way to understand what you are paying for.
Questions about VAT and any tax arrangements for international visitors should be asked directly, because the rules for aesthetic procedures have changed over time. Ask whether a quote includes VAT and what documentation you will receive.
How to read a quote
| Check | Why |
|---|---|
| Each treatment listed separately | Lets you see what is essential and what is optional |
| Product names and amounts | Allows like-for-like understanding |
| Areas covered | Avoids assumptions about "full face" |
| Review visits and touch-ups | Clarifies what follow-up is included |
| Taxes | Confirms whether VAT is included |
Why comparing headline prices can mislead
- Two "Ultherapy" or "filler" offers may involve very different amounts or coverage.
- Packages may include treatments you do not need — Doje explicitly avoids applying every device as a package.
- The doctor's assessment, technique and follow-up are part of what you pay for, even though they do not appear as line items.

Frequently asked questions
Why doesn't Doje Clinic publish prices?
Because cost depends on the individual plan — treatments, areas, product amounts and device coverage — which is decided in a 1:1 consultation.
Can I get a written quote?
Yes. You can ask for an itemised written quote after your consultation.
Does Korean health insurance cover aesthetic treatment?
No. Aesthetic procedures are non-covered (비급여) items, with fees set per clinic and plan.
Is VAT included in the quote?
Ask when you receive your quote, as rules for aesthetic procedures and any visitor refunds have changed over time.
Can I get a rough idea before travelling?
You can send photos and questions via messaging for a preliminary view, but the final plan and quote follow the in-person consultation.
Will I be pressured to decide on the day?
No. You can take the quote away and decide later, or choose a staged plan.
