What is Skin Botox?
Standard Botox treats expression lines by relaxing specific muscles. Skin Botox (sometimes called micro-Botox or 스킨보톡스) uses the same type of toxin in a very different way: it is diluted and delivered as many tiny, shallow injections across an area of skin. At that superficial level, it acts on structures within the skin itself, such as oil glands, sweat glands and the very fine muscle fibres attached to the skin surface, rather than the deep facial muscles that create expression.
The result many people notice is skin that looks smoother and more refined: pores appear less prominent, shine is reduced and fine crepey lines soften. On the lower face and neck, it can also make the skin surface look tighter. It is a skin-quality treatment rather than a lifting or volumising one.
How Doje Clinic approaches Skin Botox
At Doje, the starting point is understanding what your skin actually needs. Dr. Byun Jeik and the team may use Mark-View 3D skin analysis to document pores, texture and oil, giving an objective baseline.
- Right concern – Skin Botox is best for oiliness, the appearance of pores and fine texture. Dull, dehydrated or thin skin is usually better served by skin boosters.
- Right depth and dilution – superficial placement avoids weakening expression muscles, so smiles and movement stay natural.
- Combinations – for pore and texture concerns, it may sit alongside autologous exosome with Potenza, or GOURI/Re2O, chosen according to the cause.
- Restraint – it is not added to every plan; only where it addresses a real concern.

Two faces, same treatment, different results.
The difference is the design. Tell us your goals and dates; in your 1:1 consultation Dr. Byun Jeik shows you what your face needs, and what it doesn't.
Who it suits — and who it doesn't
- Suits oily or combination skin where pores look enlarged and makeup slides.
- Suits fine, crepey texture on the cheeks, lower face or neck.
- Suits people preparing for an event who want smoother-looking skin with little downtime.
- Less suitable when pores are enlarged mainly by sagging or scarring; lifting or regenerative treatments may help more.
- Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with certain neuromuscular conditions, with active infection or inflammation in the area, or with some medications reviewed at consultation.
What to expect, step by step
- Consultation: skin type, oil, pores and texture are assessed; Mark-View 3D may be used.
- Plan: treatment zones and whether skin boosters or pore care should be combined.
- Preparation: cleansing and numbing cream.
- Treatment: many tiny, shallow injections across the area, or delivery with a micro-injector device where appropriate.
- Review: skin is reassessed after the effect develops.
Recovery and aftercare
Small raised bumps at injection points usually flatten within an hour or so; some redness or pinpoint marks can last into the next day. Avoid touching, rubbing or massaging the face for the rest of the day, skip saunas and strenuous exercise for a day and keep skincare gentle. Makeup is usually possible the following day. The smoothing effect typically appears over one to two weeks.
Cost
The fee depends on the treatment area and the amount needed, and on whether it is combined with other skin care. It is quoted after the 1:1 consultation; ask for a written quote. Korean non-covered (비급여) aesthetic fees are set per plan.

Frequently asked questions
How is Skin Botox different from regular Botox?
Regular Botox relaxes deep expression muscles; Skin Botox uses diluted micro-doses placed superficially to refine skin texture, oil and the look of pores.
Will Skin Botox affect my facial expressions?
It is placed superficially to avoid weakening expression muscles, so movement typically stays natural.
Does it shrink pores permanently?
No. It can make pores look less prominent for a few months; results vary and maintenance is needed.
Is there downtime?
Usually little: small bumps settle within about an hour, and pinpoint marks may last a day.
Can it be combined with skin boosters?
Yes, if your skin needs both oil and texture control and better hydration or regeneration.
