Forehead Lines Treatment in Cheongdam & Apgujeong, Seoul

Forehead lines form as the forehead muscle repeatedly raises the brows, and become etched as skin thins with age and sun. At Doje Clinic in Cheongdam and Apgujeong, Seoul, Dr. Byun Jeik softens them with carefully dosed toxin, skin boosters and tightening while protecting brow position and natural expression.

Why forehead lines form

The frontalis is the only muscle that lifts the eyebrows. Its fibres run vertically, so each time it contracts — when we are surprised, talk expressively or open our eyes wide — the skin above it folds into horizontal lines (이마주름 in Korean).

  • Expression habits. Some people raise their brows constantly when speaking, so lines appear early, sometimes in the twenties.
  • Brow compensation. As the upper lids become heavier or the brows descend, many people unconsciously lift their brows all day to keep their vision clear. The forehead works overtime, and lines deepen. In these cases, the lines are a symptom of an eye-area problem.
  • Collagen loss and sun. The forehead receives a lot of sun. Declining collagen and elastin mean the skin no longer smooths fully after each contraction, so dynamic lines become static.
  • Volume change. Thinning of the soft tissue over the forehead and temples can make lines and contours more visible.

How Doje Clinic assesses forehead lines

The most important question is not how deep the lines are, but why your forehead is working. In a 1:1 consultation, Dr. Byun Jeik watches the forehead at rest, during conversation and with the brows gently held down. If your eyelids feel heavy or your vision narrows when the forehead relaxes, your frontalis is compensating, and simply paralysing it would make your eyes feel heavier and look more tired.

  • Where the lines are concentrated — centrally, laterally or across the full width.
  • How much the brows rely on the forehead to stay up.
  • Whether lines persist at rest, and how deep they are.
  • Skin thickness and quality, with Mark-View 3D skin analysis where useful.
  • Any linked concerns: frown lines between the brows, hooded eyes or hollow temples.

This assessment shapes how much toxin is used, where it is placed, and whether the plan should start with the eyes instead.

Options from mild to advanced

Dynamic lines with a well-supported brow

Botulinum toxin in the frontalis softens the lines that appear with expression. Doje places it in a pattern that leaves some movement, especially near the brows, so the forehead still looks natural and the brows keep their shape. Results typically appear within one to two weeks and last several months, varying by person.

Lines from brow compensation

Here the forehead is treated very lightly, or the plan starts elsewhere. Lifting the brow and upper face with the Doje signature upper-face thread lift, or tightening upper-lid skin, can reduce the need for the forehead to work, and lines often soften as a result. See hooded eyes and brow descent.

Static lines at rest

Lines that remain when the forehead is relaxed need skin work as well as toxin. Skin boosters such as Rejuran, and collagen boosters such as GOURI or Re2O, improve dermal quality over a series of sessions. Thermage can tighten forehead skin gradually.

Deep, etched creases

Very fine, soft filler may be used sparingly in deep static creases. The forehead has an important network of blood vessels, so this is done conservatively with careful technique, and only when skin boosters and toxin are not enough.

Which Doje program fits

For movement lines alone, toxin as a single treatment is often enough. When forehead lines are tied to hooding, the Eye Program — lifting, volume and eye-area skin improvement — tackles the cause. For broader upper-face ageing with skin quality concerns, the Signature Program combines lifting, boosters and devices only as far as needed.

When another opinion is more appropriate

Forehead lines alone rarely need surgery. If they are driven by a markedly descended brow or heavy upper-lid skin, a surgical brow lift or upper blepharoplasty assessed by a qualified surgeon may address the root cause more completely. Dr. Byun will explain this where relevant.

Cost

Fees depend on whether you need toxin alone or a combined plan, and are quoted after the 1:1 consultation. Ask for a written quote; Korean non-covered (비급여) aesthetic fees are set per plan.

Frequently asked questions

Will forehead Botox make my brows drop?

It can if too much is used or if your forehead is compensating for heavy lids. Doje assesses this first and doses to protect brow position.

How long does forehead Botox last?

Typically around three to four months, varying with dose, muscle strength and individual metabolism.

Can lines that stay at rest be removed?

They can usually be softened with a combination of toxin, skin boosters and tightening, but deep creases rarely disappear completely.

Is forehead filler safe?

The forehead has many blood vessels, so filler carries specific risks and is used sparingly and conservatively, only when other options are not enough.

Why do my lines keep coming back?

Toxin is temporary and the muscle gradually regains movement. Regular maintenance and skin-quality treatment help lines stay softer over time.

What is the downtime?

Usually minimal: small injection marks for a few hours and occasionally a small bruise.
