Shape now, or quality over time?
Fillers (필러) are most often hyaluronic acid gels. They occupy space, so they restore volume or create support the moment they are placed. Doje distinguishes soft filler — smooth, flexible products for delicate areas and fine contour — from structural filler, which is firmer and used for support at deeper points such as ligament areas, the chin or jawline.
Collagen boosters (콜라겐 부스터) work differently. They are injected to prompt your skin to build more of its own collagen. Two used at Doje are Radiesse, a calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) injectable that provides some immediate support and stimulates collagen over time, and GOURI, a PCL-based injectable spread across an area to improve density gradually. Results are subtler and build slowly.
A useful way to think about it: filler is architecture, collagen boosters are renovation of the material.
How Doje Clinic chooses
In a 1:1 consultation, Dr. Byun Jeik — a Belotero Expert Committee member and Merz Advisory Board member — looks at bone and fat support, how the skin drapes and how thick or thin it is. Mark-View 3D data can add objective information on skin condition.
- A hollow, a flat area or a fold caused by lost support — filler.
- Thin, slack skin without a clear volume deficit — a collagen booster.
- Lower-face laxity with mild contour loss — Radiesse can bridge both roles.
- Visible sagging — neither leads; a thread lift or lifting device comes first.

Collagen booster vs filler side by side
| Filler (HA) | Collagen booster | |
|---|---|---|
| Mechanism | Gel occupies space, restoring volume or support | Stimulates the skin’s own collagen production |
| Depth / target | From superficial (soft) to deep (structural), by area | Dermis or deeper planes across a zone |
| Suits | Hollows, folds, contour and projection | Thin or lax skin, density and firmness |
| Sessions | Often one, with review | Often one to a few; varies |
| Downtime | Swelling or bruising, typically short | Swelling or bruising, typically short |
| Onset | Immediate | Gradual over weeks to months (Radiesse gives some early support) |
| Reversibility | HA filler can generally be dissolved | Not dissolvable in the same way; planned conservatively |
When Doje combines them
Many faces need both: filler to restore the shape that has been lost, and a collagen booster to improve the skin covering that shape. In the Mid-Face, Marionette and Jawline programs, Radiesse and GOURI/Re2O appear as options precisely for this reason. Doje uses only what each face needs, aiming for a natural result rather than more product.
Which should you choose?
- Filler if you can point to a specific hollow, groove or flat area.
- Collagen booster if the face has the right shape but the skin feels thinner or looser.
- Both if contour and skin quality have changed together.
- Neither as the lead if tissue has visibly descended.
Cost
Injectable plans are quoted after a 1:1 consultation because product type and amount vary. Korean non-covered (비급여) aesthetic fees are set per plan; ask for a written quote.

Frequently asked questions
Is Radiesse a filler or a collagen booster?
It does both to a degree: CaHA gives some immediate support and also stimulates collagen over time. Dr. Byun explains which role it would play in your plan.
Which lasts longer?
It depends on the product, area and individual. Collagen-based change tends to fade gradually, while filler longevity varies by product and placement.
Can collagen boosters fill hollows?
Not in the way filler does. They improve density and firmness rather than replacing lost volume.
Can filler be reversed?
Hyaluronic acid filler can generally be dissolved if needed. Collagen boosters are not reversible in the same way, so they are planned conservatively.
Will I look puffy with filler?
The goal is a natural look. Conservative amounts placed for support help avoid an overfilled appearance.
Can I have both in one visit?
Often, depending on areas and plan. Dr. Byun decides the order in your consultation.
