What is GOURI?

GOURI (고우리) is a collagen booster made by the Korean company Dexlevo. Its key ingredient is polycaprolactone (PCL), a biodegradable material that has long been used in medicine and is known in aesthetics for stimulating the body's own collagen production. Most PCL products are particles suspended in a gel carrier. GOURI is different in that the PCL is in a liquid form, and the product comes ready to use without mixing.

Because it is liquid rather than a gel with particles, GOURI is designed to spread evenly through the treated layer rather than staying as a localised deposit. The intended effect is an overall improvement in firmness and skin quality across an area, rather than adding shape at a particular point. That distinguishes it from filler, which creates volume where it is placed.

How Doje Clinic uses GOURI

At Doje Clinic, GOURI appears as an option in several places: within the Mid-Face, Marionette and Eye Programs, and in the pores and texture and hydration lines of Skin & Energy care. It is listed together with Re2O as “GOURI/Re2O”, because Dr. Byun Jeik chooses between collagen-stimulating and matrix-supporting approaches according to the skin in front of him.

GOURI is most useful when the face has broadly good structure but the skin has become thinner and less firm — or after lifting, when the repositioned tissue benefits from better support. It is not a substitute for a thread lift where there is real sagging, nor for filler where there is a true hollow. That distinction is the core of Doje's approach: each tool is used only as far as needed.

Two faces, same treatment, different results.

The difference is the design. Tell us your goals and dates; in your 1:1 consultation Dr. Byun Jeik shows you what your face needs, and what it doesn't.

Who it suits — and who it doesn't

  • Suits: skin that feels thinner and looser overall, without a single obvious hollow.
  • Suits: people who prefer gradual, natural-looking change over immediate shape change.
  • Suits: those consolidating results after lifting.
  • Not the right tool: marked sagging (consider lifting) or deep volume loss (consider filler).
  • Postpone: pregnancy or breastfeeding, active infection, or uncontrolled autoimmune conditions until discussed.

What to expect step by step

  1. Consultation: Dr. Byun assesses skin thickness, laxity and how firmness has changed.
  2. Skin data: Mark-View 3D may be used to document baseline skin condition.
  3. Plan: GOURI alone or with lifting or energy devices; sessions and intervals are suggested.
  4. Treatment: numbing, then even distribution across the planned area.
  5. Aftercare: written guidance and messaging follow-up.

Recovery and aftercare

Mild swelling and tenderness are common for a day or two, and small bruises may appear at entry points. Avoid saunas, heavy exercise and alcohol for about 48 hours, and avoid strong massage on the area unless advised. Most people return to daily life immediately. More detail is in the skin booster aftercare guide.

When will I see results?

Collagen stimulation is a biological process, so change is gradual rather than instant; any early fullness from swelling settles within days. Improvement in firmness typically develops over the following weeks and months, and the degree varies with age, skin condition and lifestyle. Some people choose a short series for a more noticeable effect, as advised at consultation.

Cost

GOURI is quoted after a 1:1 consultation, as cost depends on area, number of sessions and whether it is part of a program. Korean aesthetic fees are non-covered (비급여) and set per plan; ask for a written quote.

Frequently asked questions

Is GOURI a filler?

No. GOURI is a liquid PCL collagen booster that spreads through the layer to support firmness gradually, rather than adding volume at one point.

How is GOURI different from Radiesse?

Both stimulate collagen, but Radiesse is a calcium-based biostimulatory filler with some immediate volume, while GOURI is liquid PCL with no filler-like volume.

GOURI or Re2O — how does Doje choose?

Dr. Byun considers whether the skin mainly needs collagen stimulation or matrix support, which is why Doje lists them together as options.

When will I see GOURI results?

Results are gradual, typically developing over weeks to months, and vary between individuals.

Can GOURI be combined with a thread lift?

Yes, when appropriate. Lifting repositions tissue, while GOURI supports skin firmness, so they address different layers.
