Neck Wrinkles Treatment in Cheongdam & Apgujeong, Seoul

Neck wrinkles form because neck skin is thin, moves constantly and is often missed by sun protection. At Doje Clinic in Cheongdam and Apgujeong, Seoul, Dr. Byun Jeik distinguishes horizontal lines, vertical bands and crepey skin, then plans skin boosters, Skin Botox, Botox, careful filler or energy-based tightening for each.

Why the neck shows lines early

The neck often reveals age before the face does, and it is not only a matter of years. Its skin is thinner than facial skin, has fewer oil glands, and sits over a thin, sheet-like muscle — the platysma — that pulls with every expression and head movement. Four patterns are common.

Horizontal neck lines

Sometimes called necklace lines, these rings form where the skin folds as the head bends forward. Some people have them in their 20s because of how the skin attaches to the tissue beneath; in others they deepen with repeated flexion, such as looking down at phones and laptops for hours each day.

Vertical bands

When the platysma muscle contracts — and as it loosens with age — its edges can show as vertical cords running from the jaw to the collarbone. These are muscle-driven rather than skin-driven.

Crepey neck skin

Fine, crinkled texture comes from thinning, dehydration and sun damage. Many people apply sunscreen carefully to the face but stop at the jaw, so the neck accumulates ultraviolet damage over decades.

Laxity

Loose skin under the chin and along the neck often travels with jowls and submental fat — see sagging neck for that pattern.

How Doje Clinic assesses neck wrinkles

In a private 1:1 consultation, Dr. Byun Jeik examines the neck at rest, while you tilt your head down, and while you tense the neck muscles. That simple sequence separates fold lines from muscle bands and texture changes. He also looks at the jawline and lower face, because neck ageing is rarely isolated; loss of jaw definition makes the neck look older even when the skin itself is in reasonable condition.

Neck skin bruises easily and shows lumps more readily than facial skin, so product choice, depth and dose are deliberately conservative. Doje’s principle of combining treatments only as far as needed is especially important here.

Options from mild to advanced

  1. Daily care. Extend sunscreen and moisturiser to the neck and upper chest, and raise screens to eye level where possible.
  2. Skin boosters. Rejuran, exosome or Re2O, delivered in fine, even doses with Dermashine Pro, aim to improve thickness, hydration and crepey texture over a course.
  3. Skin Botox. Superficial micro-doses can soften fine crepiness and refine texture. See Skin Botox.
  4. Botox for vertical bands. Relaxing overactive platysma bands can soften their appearance; suitability depends on the degree of laxity.
  5. Soft filler for etched horizontal lines. Very small amounts of soft filler placed superficially may soften a deep, persistent crease. Technique matters, because the neck shows irregularities easily.
  6. Energy-based tightening. Thermage or Ultherapy Prime may be considered where laxity contributes to lines.

Where Doje’s programs fit

Neck lines are often treated alongside the lower face. If jaw definition has softened, the Jawline Program — lower-face thread lift, double-chin liposuction, and options such as Ultherapy Prime, Radiesse or ONDA — can change how the neck reads. Otherwise, neck treatments are planned as single treatments or a booster course.

When a surgeon is more appropriate

Heavy, hanging neck skin with very prominent bands usually reflects structural laxity that injectables and devices cannot reverse. A plastic surgeon can advise on surgical neck tightening. Doje does not perform surgical neck lifts and will say so when your goals point that way.

What to expect

  1. 1:1 consultation and dynamic neck examination.
  2. A plan that names each line type and its treatment.
  3. Treatment, often staged to limit swelling and bruising.
  4. Review after several weeks, as booster and collagen effects build.
  5. Maintenance and sun protection.

Cost

Costs depend on the combination and number of sessions, so they are quoted after a 1:1 consultation. Korean aesthetic fees are non-covered (비급여); ask for a written quote.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I have neck lines in my 20s?

Some horizontal lines reflect how the skin attaches to underlying tissue and are partly genetic. Posture and screen use can deepen them.

Which treatment suits crepey neck skin?

Skin boosters and Skin Botox are commonly considered for crepey texture. A course is usually needed and results vary.

Can filler be used in neck lines?

Very small amounts of soft filler may soften a deep horizontal line, but technique is critical because neck skin is thin.

Does Botox help neck bands?

Relaxing the platysma can soften vertical bands in suitable patients. It does not remove loose skin.

When is a neck lift more appropriate?

Heavy, loose neck skin with prominent bands is often better assessed by a plastic surgeon.

How much does neck treatment cost?

It is quoted after a 1:1 consultation. Korean aesthetic fees are non-covered and set per plan, so request a written quote.
