What is the Jawline Program?

A defined jawline depends on three things lining up: tissue that sits high enough not to spill over the jaw border, a modest amount of fat beneath the chin, and skin with enough elasticity to drape cleanly over the bone. When any one of them changes, the edge softens. Most people notice it first in photos taken from slightly below or in profile.

The Jawline Program treats these three factors as separate problems. That matters because the wrong tool for the cause gives a disappointing result: removing fat from a jaw that is really sagging can leave loose skin, while lifting a jaw that mainly carries fat will not create a crisp angle.

How Doje Clinic approaches the jawline

Dr. Byun Jeik, a surgery specialist trained at Seoul National University Hospital, examines the jaw from the front, the side and from below, and pinches and lifts the tissue to estimate how much is fat and how much is laxity. The plan is then assembled:

• Doje signature lower-face thread lift (실리프팅) – repositions jowl tissue upward and back to restore the line of the jaw. Vectors are designed to your face shape, and the technique aims to avoid lumpiness.
• Double-chin liposuction – removes excess submental fat that physical lifting cannot shift, sharpening the angle between chin and neck.

Options are chosen by what remains: ONDA uses microwave energy that can target fat and tighten tissue where liposuction is not wanted or is unnecessary; Ultherapy Prime addresses deeper laxity; Radiesse can add structure and collagen stimulation along the jaw border. None is added by default.

What to expect, step by step

1. Consultation: assessment of sagging, fat and elasticity, and discussion of how defined you want the result to be.
2. Plan: which core items you need (sometimes only one), and whether ONDA, Ultherapy Prime or Radiesse adds value.
3. Treatment: local anaesthesia; liposuction through small entry points, then thread lifting along the lower face, often on the same day.
4. Compression: if liposuction is performed, a chin strap is typically worn for a period advised by the clinic.
5. Follow-up: checks as swelling settles and the contour matures.

Recovery and aftercare

Combining liposuction and threads usually means a week or so of swelling under the chin and along the jaw, with tightness when chewing or turning the head. Bruising may appear and fades over one to two weeks. The final contour typically becomes clearer over several weeks as swelling resolves. Wear the compression garment as instructed, eat soft foods early on, avoid saunas, heavy exercise and alcohol in the first period, and keep the head raised at night. If you are flying home, discuss timing at consultation.
