Tired-Looking Eyes in Cheongdam & Apgujeong, Seoul

Tired-looking eyes are rarely caused by one thing: a heavy brow, hollows, bags, dark shadows and crepey skin each contribute. At Doje Clinic in Cheongdam and Apgujeong, Seoul, Dr. Byun Jeik maps which factors apply to you and combines lifting, soft volume and skin care in the Eye Program only as needed.

Why eyes look tired when you are not

People often say they are told they look tired — 피곤해 보이는 눈 — when they feel perfectly well. The impression of fatigue comes from a handful of visual cues that the brain reads instantly: a lower or heavier brow, a lid that sits closer to the lashes, a shadow below the eye, a bulge above that shadow, and skin that looks thin or crinkled. Each can occur alone, but most people have two or three together.

The eye area changes in every layer with time:

  • Above the eye: the outer brow descends and upper-lid skin loosens, giving a hooded, heavy look.
  • Below the eye: soft tissue thins and the bony socket widens, creating hollows and a tear trough.
  • Behind the lid: the membrane holding lower-lid fat weakens, so bags can appear.
  • In the skin: collagen loss, sun and constant movement leave the skin thin, crepey and sometimes darker.
  • In the cheek: mid-face descent lengthens the lid-cheek junction, so the eye looks longer and more tired from below.

The tired-eye map Doje Clinic uses

Rather than starting with a treatment, Dr. Byun Jeik starts with a map. In a 1:1 consultation he checks each contributor, rates how much it matters for your face, and only then chooses tools.

Contributor Typical sign Likely direction
Brow descent Heavy outer lid, hooding Upper-face thread lift, conservative toxin
Hollows or tear trough Shadow or groove under the eye Under-eye soft filler, mid-face support
Bags Bulge that worsens looking up Contour refinement only; surgery for true fat bags
Thin, crepey skin Fine crinkling, bluish tone Eye Rejuran, Re2O Fine, Eye Thermage with Softwave
Pigment Brown discolouration Helios toning, sun protection

Mark-View 3D skin analysis adds objective data on skin condition and pigment to this map.

Options from mild to advanced

One main contributor

Some people need only one step: a few units of toxin to lift a heavy brow tail, a small amount of under-eye soft filler for a hollow, or a course of Eye Rejuran for thin skin. Treating the dominant cue can change the impression of the whole eye.

Two or three contributors

More commonly, the brow, the area under the eye and the skin all play a part. Doje then sequences treatments so they support each other — for example lifting the brow with the Doje signature upper-face thread lift, softening the tear trough with conservative filler, and improving skin quality with eye-area boosters. The order matters: lifting first often reduces how much volume is needed.

When the cheek is involved

If mid-face descent makes the eye look long and tired from below, supporting the cheek through the Mid-Face Program can refresh the eye without treating the eye area directly.

Short visits to Seoul

For visitors with limited time, some combinations can be completed in a day; others are best staged. Dr. Byun will tell you what is realistic for your travel dates, and the One-Day Program may suit those who also want a thread lift and skin recovery in a single visit.

Which Doje program fits

The Eye Program was designed for exactly this kind of multi-factor concern. It works on three axes — lifting (Doje signature upper-face thread lift), volume (soft filler) and eye-area skin improvement — with Eye Thermage with Softwave, GOURI/Re2O, Eye Rejuran and Re2O Fine as options. You receive only the elements your map shows you need.

When a surgical opinion is more appropriate

If the tired look is driven mainly by prominent lower-lid fat bags, a large fold of upper-lid skin or a drooping eyelid margin (ptosis), eyelid surgery or a medical eyelid assessment will achieve more than non-surgical care. If you also feel genuinely exhausted, a general medical check-up is worthwhile, as sleep problems, anaemia, thyroid issues and allergies can all affect the eyes.

Cost

Plans range from a single treatment to a combined Eye Program, so fees are quoted after the 1:1 consultation. Ask for a written quote; Korean non-covered (비급여) aesthetic fees are set per plan.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I look tired even when I am well rested?

Structural changes — a lower brow, hollows, bags or thin skin — create the visual cues of fatigue regardless of how much you sleep.

Which treatment should I start with?

Start with the biggest contributor. For many people that is the brow or the hollow under the eye; the consultation map shows which.

Can everything be done in one visit?

Some combinations can, especially when downtime is short. Others are better staged, which Dr. Byun will plan around your schedule.

Will people notice I have had treatment?

The aim is for people to notice you look rested, not treated. Conservative dosing and placement are central to that.

How long do results last?

It varies by treatment: toxin lasts months, filler and boosters vary by product and person, and the clinic states thread-lift results can last up to two years or more.

What is the downtime?

Usually short. Mild swelling or bruising after filler or threads for several days is common; skin boosters and toxin have minimal downtime.
