KakaoTalk in Korea: why it is convenient

KakaoTalk is the messenger most people in Korea use every day, and many businesses — clinics included — run an official KakaoTalk channel. Messaging a channel feels just like chatting with a friend, but your conversation goes to the clinic's team. If you live in Seoul, are an expatriate, or have Korean friends who set you up with the app, it is often the most natural way to reach Doje Clinic.

If you do not have KakaoTalk, there is no need to install it just to book: WhatsApp, LINE, Instagram DM and the online form reach the same clinic.

Step by step: booking through the KakaoTalk channel

1. Open the channel link pf.kakao.com/_xecxhxiX on a phone with KakaoTalk installed. It opens the Doje Clinic channel profile.
2. Add the channel (채널 추가) so the conversation stays in your chat list.
3. Tap the chat button (채팅) to open a 1:1 conversation with the clinic.
4. Introduce yourself: name, first visit or returning patient, and the concern or programme you are interested in.
5. Offer two or three dates and times, avoiding Wednesdays, Sundays and public holidays.
6. Share relevant history: medications, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, previous filler, threads, toxin, laser or device treatments.
7. Confirm the appointment the clinic proposes, and keep the chat for directions and follow-up.

Writing your first message

You can write in Korean or English. A clear first message might read:

“Hello, I would like to book a first consultation with Dr. Byun Jeik. I am interested in [e.g. the Mid-Face Program / under-eye hollowness]. Available: [dates/times]. Medications: [list]. Previous procedures: [what, where, approximately when].”

In Korean, a short version is: “안녕하세요, 변제익 원장님 상담 예약 원합니다. 관심 부위: [ ]. 가능한 날짜: [ ].”

Sending photos well

• Use daylight, no filters or beauty mode, and no make-up if possible.
• Include front, both 45-degree angles and side views.
• Photos help preliminary guidance only; Dr. Byun Jeik confirms the plan after examining you in person, sometimes with Mark-View 3D skin analysis.

Rescheduling and reminders

Because the channel stays in your chat list, it is easy to message if your plans change. Reply as early as you can with new date options. During opening hours you can also call +82-2-6380-2110.

Using KakaoTalk after treatment

KakaoTalk is convenient for non-urgent follow-up questions — for example whether a little swelling on day two is expected, or when you can return to exercise. Symptoms such as rapidly increasing pain, one-sided swelling, colour change in the skin or signs of infection need a phone call to the clinic during opening hours or local urgent medical care, not a message queue.
