Key facts
| Why timing matters | Swelling, bruising and early complications are easier to check before you leave |
|---|---|
| Usually shorter wait | Botox, soft filler, skin boosters, energy-based lifting, toning |
| Usually longer wait | Thread lifts, double-chin liposuction, CO2 laser, more extensive combinations |
| In flight | Hydrate, avoid alcohol, keep the head raised, avoid pressing on treated areas |
| Ideal plan | Treat early in the trip, with time for a review before departure |
| Planned by | Dr. Byun Jeik, around your actual flight dates |
Why flying deserves planning
Flying is not usually dangerous after minimally invasive treatment, but it adds a few challenges. Cabin pressure changes and long periods of sitting can make facial swelling feel more noticeable. Cabin air is very dry, which can make freshly treated skin feel tight. And once you are home, the doctor who treated you is no longer down the road. For international visitors, the most important principle is simple: treat early in your stay and leave time to be seen again before you fly.
Tell the clinic your arrival and departure dates when you first make contact, so the plan can be built around them. See how many days to plan in Seoul.
Typical guidance by treatment
| Treatment | Typical approach to flying |
|---|---|
| Botox / Skin Botox | Usually possible soon after; avoid rubbing the area and lying flat for the first hours |
| Soft or structural filler | Often a day or two; swelling may feel more noticeable in flight |
| Skin boosters (Rejuran, GOURI, Re2O) | Small bumps usually settle within days; flying is generally fine |
| Ultherapy Prime, Thermage, Softwave, ONDA | Generally little restriction; mild redness or tenderness only |
| Thread lift | Allow several days for early swelling and a check if possible |
| Double-chin liposuction | Allow more time; follow compression advice |
| CO2 laser / Potenza | Wait until open or pinpoint wounds have closed; protect from window sun |
These are typical patterns, not rules; your own advice depends on your plan and how you respond.

Two faces, same treatment, different results.
The difference is the design. Tell us your goals and dates; in your 1:1 consultation Dr. Byun Jeik shows you what your face needs, and what it doesn't.
Planning a trip around treatment
- Share dates early. Include any events after you land, such as work presentations or weddings.
- Consult on day one or two. A 1:1 consultation with Dr. Byun Jeik sets the plan.
- Put heavier treatments first. Threads or liposuction early; lighter skin care later in the stay.
- Book a review. A short check before departure is valuable, especially after threads and filler.
- Consider staging. If time is short, do one area now and another on a future visit — see one-day vs staged plan.
The One-Day Program is designed for limited time, combining a signature thread lift with Doje autologous exosome and oxygen therapy; whether it suits a short trip still depends on your assessment.
Comfort and care in the air
- Hydrate and limit alcohol and salty food, which can worsen puffiness.
- Keep your head raised when sleeping; a travel pillow helps avoid pressing on the face.
- Avoid sleeping face-down on the tray table after filler or threads.
- Moisturise with a gentle, fragrance-free product after lasers or needling.
- Use sun protection — UV through aircraft windows can be strong at altitude.
- Move regularly on long flights for general circulation.
When to seek help after you land
Contact the clinic via WhatsApp, KakaoTalk or LINE with photos if you notice increasing pain, spreading redness, warmth, unusual swelling or skin colour change. Severe pain with pale or dusky skin after filler, or any vision change, needs urgent local medical care. See safety and side effects.
Cost
Travel timing can change which treatments are sensible in one trip. Plans are quoted after the 1:1 consultation; Korean non-covered (비급여) aesthetic fees are set per plan, and a written quote is available.

Energy-based lifting generally has little restriction on flying, as downtime is usually minimal.
