Lifting & Skin Care for Men · Cheongdam & Apgujeong, Seoul

Men typically have thicker, oilier skin, stronger facial muscles, a heavier lower face and a beard area to plan around, so treatments are adapted rather than copied from plans designed for women. At Doje Clinic in Cheongdam and Apgujeong, Seoul, Dr. Byun Jeik designs discreet results such as a sharper jawline, fresher eyes and better skin texture.

How male faces differ

Aesthetic medicine was long built around female faces, and simply applying the same plan to a man can produce results that look subtly wrong. The differences are anatomical as well as aesthetic.

  • Skin: typically thicker, oilier and more richly supplied with blood vessels, which can mean more noticeable pores and a greater tendency to bruise after injections.
  • Muscle: stronger frown, forehead and jaw muscles often need higher Botox doses for the same effect.
  • Shape: a stronger brow ridge, flatter and more angular cheeks, a straighter brow and a wider, more defined jaw are features to preserve.
  • Beard area: hair-bearing skin affects where thread entry points are placed and how some devices are used.
  • Timing: many men first seek treatment later, when sagging along the jaw or heaviness under the chin is already established.

Two faces, same treatment, different results.

The difference is the design. Tell us your goals and dates; in your 1:1 consultation Dr. Byun Jeik shows you what your face needs, and what it doesn't.

Avoiding a feminised or “done” look

The most common reason men dislike their results is not that the treatment failed, but that it changed their character. Dr. Byun Jeik plans to avoid:

  • Rounded, over-filled upper cheeks instead of flatter, angular ones
  • Arched brows caused by Botox placement; male brows usually sit flatter
  • A completely motionless forehead; a little movement looks more natural on men
  • Volume at the expense of definition along the jaw and chin

For many men, the most masculine improvement is structural: a lifted jawline and a cleaner neck angle rather than added volume.

Practical points for men

  • Shaving: avoid shaving over thread entry points or freshly treated skin until advised, often a day or two.
  • Training: heavy weights, contact sports and saunas usually pause for a few days after lifting or injectables.
  • Work schedules: energy devices and Botox suit busy weeks; thread lifts are easier before a weekend or a few quieter days.
  • Business travel: see how many days to stay in Seoul.

How Doje approaches treatment for men

Every plan starts with a 1:1 consultation with Dr. Byun, a surgery specialist trained at Seoul National University Hospital. He assesses facial structure, ageing pattern and goals, then combines thread lifting, filler, collagen boosters and energy devices only as far as needed. The clinic is calm, private and personalised, which many men value when treatment is a private matter.

Cost

Plans are quoted after a 1:1 consultation; ask for a written quote. Korean non-covered (비급여) aesthetic fees are set per plan.

Frequently asked questions

Do men need more Botox than women?

Often, yes. Stronger muscles commonly need higher doses for the same effect, which the doctor adjusts individually.

Will a thread lift work with a beard?

Yes. Entry points and thread paths are planned around the beard area, and shaving over entry points is paused briefly afterwards.

When can I go back to the gym?

Usually after a few days for injectables and lifting; heavy lifting and saunas may need a little longer. Follow your aftercare advice.

Can treatment make my face look feminine?

It can if volume is placed without regard to male anatomy. Plans at Doje are designed to preserve angularity and definition.

Is treatment discreet?

Plans can be chosen around your schedule, and many lower-downtime options leave little visible sign. The clinic is designed to be calm and private.
