What is Eye Thermage?

The skin around the eyes is among the thinnest on the body, with very little fat beneath it and constant movement from blinking and expression. It is often the first area where skin loses elasticity, showing fine crinkling, a softer upper-lid fold or a crepey texture under the eye that makeup settles into.

Eye Thermage applies the same radiofrequency principle as Thermage on the face, but through a small tip designed for eyelid skin. Controlled heat warms the dermis while the surface is cooled, causing existing collagen to tighten and prompting new collagen to form over the following months. Because it is non-invasive, it suits people who want to improve the skin itself without adding volume.

How Doje Clinic approaches eye-area skin

In Doje's Eye Program, tired eyes are analysed along three axes: lifting, volume and skin. Eye Thermage belongs firmly to the skin axis. Dr. Byun Jeik recommends it when the main issue is loosening, crinkled skin rather than a descended brow or a hollow tear trough.

• Alternatives – if the skin is thin and dehydrated rather than lax, Eye Rejuran or Re2O Fine may be preferred.
• Not a substitute – descended brows may need the upper-face thread lift; hollows may need soft filler. Eye Thermage cannot replace either.

What to expect, step by step

1. Consultation: the eye area is assessed for skin laxity, hollowness and brow position.
2. Preparation: makeup and contact lenses are removed; numbing may be applied.
3. Eye protection: shields are placed for treatment of the upper lid.
4. Treatment: brief pulses of warmth with cooling, across lids and the surrounding skin.
5. Combination: Softwave or other Eye Program care if planned.

Recovery and aftercare

Mild redness and puffiness are common for a few hours and occasionally into the next day. Avoid rubbing the eyes, wear sunglasses outdoors and use gentle, fragrance-free eye products for a day or two. Wait until the clinic advises before wearing contact lenses or eye makeup again. Skin improvement develops gradually over several months, so judge results against earlier photographs rather than day by day.
