What is Aquapeel?
Aquapeel (아쿠아필) is a type of hydro-cleansing treatment. A handpiece passes over the skin while delivering cleansing and hydrating solutions and gently drawing away surface debris, excess oil and dead skin cells from pores. Unlike chemical peels or lasers, it does not aim to injure the skin to trigger renewal; its purpose is to clean, refresh and hydrate the surface.
Because it is so gentle, Aquapeel is rarely the headline treatment. Its value is as a foundation: clean, well-hydrated skin is easier to assess, can feel more comfortable during other procedures and often looks fresher straight away.
How Doje Clinic uses Aquapeel
At Doje Clinic, Aquapeel is part of the supportive care menu — alongside Cryocell, O2Derm, Ulkin, LED, soothing care and hydration care. The clinic describes these as care used before and after main treatments rather than as stand-alone solutions to structural ageing. Aquapeel in particular fits the before stage: it clears the surface so that the skin is in good condition for treatments such as laser toning, Potenza or skin boosters.
Dr. Byun Jeik includes it when it serves a purpose in your plan — for example when skin is congested, when you have travelled and your skin feels dull and dehydrated, or when a calm, clean starting point will help. It is not added automatically. That restraint reflects Doje's broader principle of using each element only as far as needed.

Two faces, same treatment, different results.
The difference is the design. Tell us your goals and dates; in your 1:1 consultation Dr. Byun Jeik shows you what your face needs, and what it doesn't.
Who it suits — and who it doesn't
- Suits: oily or congested skin and visible blackheads.
- Suits: dull, dehydrated skin after flights or a busy schedule.
- Suits: anyone preparing for laser, RF microneedling or booster treatments.
- Less useful alone: sagging, volume loss or deep pigmentation — these need targeted treatment.
- Postpone: active, inflamed acne, open wounds, sunburn or a flare of eczema or rosacea.
Where Aquapeel fits in a Doje plan
| Stage | Role of Aquapeel |
|---|---|
| Before main treatment | Cleans and hydrates the surface for a better starting point |
| Main treatment | Not the focus — e.g. toning, Potenza, boosters or lifting |
| Recovery | Other supportive care (such as LED or soothing care) usually takes over |
What to expect step by step
- Consultation: skin type, sensitivity and the main treatment plan are reviewed.
- Cleansing: make-up and surface oil are removed.
- Aquapeel: the handpiece is passed over the skin with cleansing and hydrating solutions.
- Next step: your main treatment or further supportive care follows as planned.
- Home care: simple advice on hydration and sun protection.
Recovery and aftercare
Most people have no visible downtime. Skin may look slightly pink for a short time and usually feels clean and smooth. Use a gentle moisturiser and sunscreen. If Aquapeel is followed by another treatment, the aftercare for that main treatment takes priority. For broader guidance, see make-up and skin care after treatment.
Cost
Aquapeel is usually planned as part of a wider treatment day, so its cost is included in the quote prepared after your 1:1 consultation. Korean aesthetic fees are non-covered (비급여) and set per plan — ask for a written quote.

Frequently asked questions
Is Aquapeel a chemical peel?
No. Aquapeel is a gentle water-based cleansing and hydration treatment, not a peel that deliberately injures the skin.
Why does Doje use Aquapeel before other treatments?
Clean, hydrated skin is a better starting point for treatments such as toning, Potenza or boosters, and can feel more comfortable.
Is there downtime after Aquapeel?
Usually none. Mild pinkness may appear briefly, and most people return to their day immediately.
Can Aquapeel treat sagging or wrinkles?
No. It is supportive care for the skin surface. Structural concerns need lifting, filler or energy devices.
Can sensitive skin have Aquapeel?
Often yes, with gentle settings, but active flares of rosacea or eczema should settle first. This is checked at consultation.
