What is Body ONDA?

Body ONDA applies the same Coolwaves microwave principle as facial ONDA, but with handpieces sized for larger body areas. Microwaves pass through the cooled skin surface and act within the subcutaneous fat layer, where they are intended to disrupt fat cells and stimulate firming of the fibrous network that holds that layer together. Over the following weeks the body processes the affected fat naturally.

The result, when it suits the person, is a smoother, more defined contour in specific areas, such as a lower-abdominal pouch, a soft fold at the flanks or fullness at the back of the arms, without surgery or needles. It is a contouring treatment rather than a weight-loss treatment: it refines shape where a stable weight has left pockets of fat that exercise does not seem to shift.

How Doje Clinic approaches Body ONDA

Body treatment at Doje follows the same principle as facial work: identify the cause before choosing the tool. In the Body Program consultation, Dr. Byun Jeik assesses each area for three things:

  • Fat thickness – a pinchable layer of subcutaneous fat is where Body ONDA is most relevant.
  • Skin quality – mild laxity may benefit from ONDA's firming effect; marked excess skin will not, and you will be told so.
  • Shape goals – sometimes the issue is not too much fat but too little shape elsewhere, where body filler may be more useful.

Plans are written area by area, with a realistic number of sessions rather than an open-ended package, and progress is reviewed before any further session is added.

Two faces, same treatment, different results.

The difference is the design. Tell us your goals and dates; in your 1:1 consultation Dr. Byun Jeik shows you what your face needs, and what it doesn't.

Who it suits — and who it doesn't

  • Suits adults at or near a stable weight with localised fat that resists diet and exercise.
  • Suits people preferring a non-surgical, low-downtime option.
  • Suits those combining body care with a facial program during the same stay in Seoul.
  • Not a treatment for overall weight loss or for visceral (internal abdominal) fat.
  • Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, over metal implants or electronic devices, over areas with active skin disease or recent surgery, or with certain medical conditions reviewed at consultation.

What to expect, step by step

  1. Consultation: examination of each area standing, with photographs for later comparison.
  2. Plan: treatment areas, number of sessions and spacing.
  3. Preparation: the area is cleansed and marked.
  4. Treatment: the handpiece is moved steadily across the area; deep warmth with surface cooling is typical.
  5. Follow-up: results reviewed against baseline photographs after several weeks.

Recovery and aftercare

Most people continue normal activities straight away. Redness, warmth, mild swelling or tenderness in the treated area are common and usually settle within days; occasionally small firm areas or temporary sensitivity occur and resolve over time. Drink plenty of water, keep active, avoid saunas and very hot baths for a short period and wear comfortable clothing. Maintaining a stable weight helps preserve the contour change.

Cost

The fee depends on the number and size of areas and the number of sessions planned. It is quoted after the 1:1 consultation; ask for a written quote. Korean non-covered (비급여) aesthetic fees are set per plan.

Frequently asked questions

Which areas can Body ONDA treat?

Commonly the abdomen, flanks, upper arms and thighs, depending on your assessment.

Will Body ONDA help me lose weight?

No. It is designed to refine contour in specific areas, not to reduce overall body weight.

How many sessions will I need?

It varies by area and fat thickness; some areas respond to one session, others to a short course.

Is it painful?

Most people feel deep warmth with surface cooling. Sensitivity varies, and comfort is discussed beforehand.

Does it tighten loose skin?

It may help mild laxity; marked excess skin usually needs a surgical opinion.
